"No donation is too small that is given from the heart." Thank heaven, the Shrine Bowl is the recipient, or the conduit, for many contributions, large and small.
The Kansas Shrine Bowl is a recognized 501 C 3, non-profit charity, organization dedicated to producing the best of family entertainment featuring the talented youth of Kansas. All proceeds of the Kansas Shrine Bowl events benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment with no financial obligation to patients or families.
Most common methods of donating to the Kansas Shrine Bowl are:
Star Donors; each star represents $20 contribution; 1 star=$20; 2.5 stars=$50; 5 stars=$100; etcetera.
Hospital Donor Plaque. The plaque program was designed to give supporters of the Kansas Shrine Bowl an opportunity to help the kids in the Shrine Hospitals for Children. Donors of $100 are recognized with a personalized plaque. This 5" x 7" solid walnut plaque is a lovely addition to a home or office and is designed with room for 4 additional annual tabs. A donor will receive the plaque (bronze for phase one) with the current year on it and then each year the donor will be contacted by the Shrine Bowl and given the opportunity to keep the plaque current. Each additional year's tab will be given to commemorate an additional $100 donation. Phase two, three and four are exactly like phase one except they feature a silver, a gold and a platinum plaque, respectively. They match the phase one bronze plaque but are each more colorful and feature laden than the prior plaque. Subsequent plaques to continue the program are larger and more colorful.
Gold Page Donors. Gifts of $500 or more are Gold Page Donations. They may be memorials or honorary in style. They may be designated to go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Endowment Fund [known as "Endowment Gold Pages"] where the principle is never spent, but the interest generated is used to fund the Hospitals. Gold page Donations may also be designated as "Hospital Gold Pages", and the donation will be sent to the Hospitals as part of the other Shrine Bowl proceeds. Hospital Gold Page Donations will be used immediately by the Hospitals for care and treatment of kids and up to 50% may be used to pay transportation costs of a Kansas patient and one parent to a unit of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
