Shrine Bowl All Star Cross Country Camp
Purpose and Goals:
The Cross Country race will feature team competition between east women & west women and team competition between east men & west men. The race will be run in conjunction with, and on the same course as, the Open Charity 2Mile Race.
Administration: The Kansas Shrine Bowl will administer this event and related activities with assistance and cooperation from the Kansas Track & Field Coaches Association. The Advisory Board will consist of Mark Stanbrough, Rich Patton, Tony Bozarth, Mike Spillman, Garry Sigle, & Dave Mize. Event Management will consist of the Executive Director of the Kansas Shrine Bowl, the Race Director and the Head Coach of the XC All-Stars.
Training Camp 15 East All-Star Women, 15 West All-Star Women, 15 East All-Star Men, 15 West all-star Men, and 4 to 10 Coaches. All-Stars & Coaches report at 10 a.m. on Friday prior to the last Saturday in July. Camp concludes following half-time of the Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Game on the last Saturday in July. Planned Activities Team & Coaching Orientation Race Practice Shrine Bowl Banquet Shrine Bowl Parade Special Activity Race Preparations Race [finishing on the stadium track during Shrine Bowl Pre-Game] Awards Introductions[during half-time of the football game] Camp site on campus of the University hosting the Shrine Bowl Football Game Participant responsible for running shoes, running shorts, and transportation to and from camp site. The Shrine Bowl and its sponsors are responsible for all other expenses including: Friday night dorm room [double occupancy] with bedding and linens Lunch Friday & Banquet Friday evening Breakfast, Lunch, pre-race snacks, & post race refreshments on Saturday Insurance, awards, race singlets & tee shirts Any needed camp site transportation.
