Membership in the KSB Alumni Association helps past players and coaches to stay in touch and helps members to know what’s going on with the Kansas Shrine Bowl. It also allows past players & coaches a perfect opportunity to help the game or Shriners Hospitals.
Except for special activities arranged for and by the members [such as golf tournaments] the Alumni Association only meet on the day of the annual Shrine Bowl game. Current projects of the Association include an annual contribution to Shriners Hospitals for Children and the purchasing of game pants for the Shrine Bowl teams.
Funds are raised for the Alumni Association projects by annual dues of $10.00 and voluntary contribution of any amount.
Since it’s inception in 1997, the KSB Alumni Association has donated nearly $10,000 to Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Association makes a public presentation of a donation check from the KSB Alumni Association to Shriners Hospitals for Children at the halftime of the annual game. Members attending the game meet 10 minutes prior to half time at the Alumni Area (next to the Information Tent) to be part of the presentation group.
The Shrine Bowl office handles our ordering and storage of game pants for us as they are needed. We have the Alumni Association logo on each pair of pants.
Past players and coaches can be searched by year, name or school on the Shrine Bowl web page [www.ksshrine.com] under the PARTICIPANTS dropdown menu.
Alumni Association members may call the Shrine Bowl office [800-530-5524] or e-mail [ksshrine@kansas.net] with questions, comments, and suggestions. The office may also be of help in contacting other past players and or coaches.

Special note from Coach Ron Bowen
Hello, all Shrine Bowl Alumni;
Each year I write a short note to encourage all past Shrine Bowl participants to join the Alumni Association. By joining, each of us plays a roll in improving the lives of the children who are patients at the Shrine Hospitals with our dues and any additional donations.
This is our opportunity to expand what we were a part of when we were Shrine Bowl participants. As far as I know, there have never been any “telemarketing” calls or other requests for financial help from the Shriners – only this once a year opportunity to show our concern and desire to help.
No Shrine Bowler I have spoken to has had anything but positive reactions to his visit to the hospital or his total Bowl experience.
Thus said, I ask anyone of you with suggestions on how to encourage more enrollment in the association to please e-mail those ideas. Last year’s donation was approximately $2,700, a significant increase over past years, but The Kansas Shrine Bowl Alumni can do better.
Thanks,
